Power Up Power Up

Got the Lighting and Cooling system going....

The pictures show the stages from power on, then one minute, then in the post after that, 2 minutes.

Its a good moment when you get to the stage of something actually working, makes you feel it was worthwile !

Keep at it.... any plans for a reflector etc ?

Keep in mind the lamp may produce significant amounts of UV emissions which may over time degrade plastic components subjected to direct, intense illumination. Simple solution - some flashing strategically placed to shield such stuff.

It makes is easer for us to understand the build if the first post has the build parts like what kind of lamp ( A 250 watt HQI made by ??)

Is that a home-made socket?

Thanks for you encouraging words...

I am not sure what to do about a reflector yet, I have heard alot of people are using shiny bowls?!?!

Yes, well spotted, it is a home made socket, I made a wooden mount, and used copper fuse clips, which I soldered wires onto, then screwed it to the wood...

I only did this because I could not easily find a supplier of the correct socket...works really well though...

The bulb is an Osram HQI-TS 400 W/D Daylight (5200K)

The balast is a generic 400 watt Growlight system (got it form a gardening center)

Durachko, many thanks for the encouraging words, and you most excellent advice regarding UV light, and its ability to degrade plastic...will add flashing accordingly...
