It's quite an impressive led panel @ 6500K

you should have big heatsink to coll down these LEDs .. 18W... 20 lm/W (against MH lamps' 80 lm/W) ...

argh... mission impossible.

It is true for the old model. The new has currenetly no specs. Osram has similar LED with 1000 lumens and 75 lumnes per watt, I think this one should be similar.

And dont forget that it is really a point like light source. There is no need for a reflector. Lots of the light of a MH lamp does not reach the LCD even with using a reflector, since its light is far from point like. :)

Cold Steel: Thanks for creating a new topic. I could not...

Looks good. Put half a dozen of those bad boys in a rectangle pattern in front of the right collimating fresnel and you should get about 300-400 lumens on screen.

Unfortunately, none of it really matters until these become available to us consumer pions.

NP , glad you ran across it. :)

I kinda believe it would be worthwhile at least to attempt using a few. At least enough to equal the length of the MH lamp. It would have to be really bright . As far as cooling a person could put a fan underneath the led light panel.

How is this one look here is the spec sheet

http://www.laminacer...boDatasheet.pdf

And here is the pricing

http://www.mouser.co...og/631/2001.pdf

125.00 for the light at 1800 lumnens in the daylight white series.

I'm new to this but would that be bright enough or would you need more?

After looking around this looks light the LED lights are impossibly dim compared to the 400 W MH, so I guess I'm barking up a dead tree.
