Setup Help1, Just Getting Vertical Lines!

Hello
I'm connecting my prebuilt evo 1.2 to my dell inspiron through a VGA cable. However all I am getting are vertical lines what am I doing wrong? I've attached the image of what I'm getting. HELP!!!

Have you tried other inputs? I would put this in the evo forum, they know things about these things there.
