Ok guys I know it may seem stupid but better safe then sorry. Is there a difference between the AMPTRON CMV CT-522A and the AMPTRON CMV CT-522?
I know the stats are the same but with the benq it has to be the FP567s because the FP567 is useless. I just dont want to order the AMPTRON CMV CT-522 and not be able to use it.

Thanks!

as with all LCDs, is always like opening a pandora box. Often the same models from the same brand may end mounting some slighltly different parts. Even buying the same brand/model you may end up having some different parts inside depending on where that monitor was assembled. Is not uncommon that the same maker may change LCD panel on a new production of the same LCD model number. That my be for engineering changes or because the parts providers have ended the production of a particular piece and have replaced it with another. Therefore an internal layout that may have hed no FFC issue may end up presenting it in the next production. :(

There should be no difference between the models. The Unit produced in China by CHI MEI (which may mean something like beautiful air or something alike :P) , is part of the same family CT-522 15" LCD screens, so no matter who assembles and sells the final branded product, the unit should have exactly the same characteristics and circuitry. The A in 522A indicates that is a LCD with Analog input while the 522D has a Digital input (DVI). You may also find some models that go by the code of 522AS and 522AB here the S stands for Silver and the B for Black (enclosure colors.)

These LCDs are designed on the same circuitry layouts, so is almost certain that the series CT-522 will be the same across all branded units Amptron, Arcon or others. But keep in mind my previous post... once again there is no way of telling 100% for sure until you have degutted the LCD and checked for yourself and since is quite unlikely that reseller will allow you to do that prior purchase, be aware that said there may be a slight chance that the monitor may show some FFC issue that the CHI MEI didn't. At this point it really is your call. Get the monitor and hope for the best. And remember that at lumenlab there are tons of taleneted brains who can lend you a hand when you are in trouble with your project!

On the bright side looking at the worst case scenario, you bought a 15" LCD with great specs which you could use as a second monitor for your computer, if not you can sell it on ebay listing it as "like new" but please in such event, be fair and specify that you needed it for a DIY project, but was not suitable to be used, yada, yada, yada. Bottom line: don't cheat saying is new!! Keep good Karma! If you can get the monitor very cheap rebate/coupon or retailer offer or such similar stuff, you'll definitely find someone who will buy it for almost the same price you got it for or a dozen bucks less... with some luck you may end up breaking even! :) In no case you should return it to the seller after opening the LCD up!!! That's illegal!!! Once you open the LCD case you are voluntarily and knowingly voiding the warranty and with it you are also voiding any rights to return the merchandise to the seller even if you have been extremely careful opening and closing the LCD enclosure and the still unit works perfectly!!!

So keep plugging away on your PJ and "bonne chance!"

PS: Be sure to let the community know about your experience with the monitor (positive or negative) if you are going to try it out!
