Are there bulbs of a lower wattage than the 400W halide which are compatabile with the M59 ballast?

The M59 ballast is a 400W metal halide ballast. It can be used to overdrive bulbs that have a lower wattage (if you're that adventurous).
You might want to check out the Best Bulbs Chart and go from there.
Once you find the bulb you want, the bulb's spec sheet should list what ballast you need to drive the bulb (ANSI code).
