I have begun to notice additional light on my screen surrounding the projected image. It appears most noticable when viewing in wide screen mode, at top and bottom, especially when scene is dark. The light appears curved. Other then this image is bright and clear. Whats going on?

I have the same problem at the top and bottom of my image, image looks great but light seems to be escaping. I read in another thread that the cause of this is the first fresnel isn't masked properly. I haven't tried it yet but it does make sense, just make sure that the only light that passes through the first fresnel is going to hit the lcd. Not sure if this will help you but I am confident that is what my problem is. Good Luck

Also check the edges of your LCD panel. Mine has clear glass around the border, but it isn't polarized image area, it's just extra space (1/8" maybe). I masked that on mine with high heat electrical tape and it fixed.

I was just going to post this question too. Since I dont have access to a digital camera I made a photoshiop image of the problem. the light doesnt seem to affect full screen images just when there is black as in widescreen. But it is kind of distracting. Also, could this be related to warped fresnels?

This is light leakage around the edge of the lcd. Ajeromin seems to have found a solution if it is too annoying to live with.

well i taped it off and nothing changed plus i already had that boxed off with a peice of wood and it still does it. I think that there is a problem with LCDS in general.

I also have had this problem. My wife described it as an eyelash at the bottom of the screen. My fresnels are badly warped though and I assumed that was the problem. I have been using this projector for over a year now and this is the only problem I have noticed but it is steadily growing worse.
