I just hooked my projector up, and even though amazingly my focus was perfect, the image gets really weird. It almost like if you take you computer and reduce it to 16 colors or something, everything is kindof reduced to this really flat tone. If it is a static image then its almost like I said that there are only a certain number of pixles, so anything near another color region gets all funny like it isn't sure which color it wants to be. I originally thought that it was the light that was leaking onto the board that is directly connected to the panel in some sorta crazy photo-electric effect, but I'm not so sure anymore. I've been trying to isolate that area and it hasn't fixed it. I'm about to try the panel without the bright ass light on it to see if it is permanent.

LCD is the CMV 15" 529A, there was sorta an FCC issue in that I had to bend them forward, but the fact that it shows an image makes me thing that thats working fine. It shows up on all video sources N6 PC everything, its MUCH more noticeable in the darker the color region.

First try a different VGA cable. The fact that's it's in all sources means start with the VGA cable and work forwards. Hopefully nothing is borked on the panel.

And it's fixed, for future reference, those little strips of stuff that come from the panel seem to be sensitive to intense light.

The cable was the first thing I checked, then I checked power cause of how I mounted it I had to wire the powerboard, that is normally connected by pins, by hand. So I isolated that off, and I made some thin balsa strips to keep light from hitting the things from the panel and I reseated the FCCs again (though I don't believe that was it).

If it looks like you have reduced colors it might be something like a misaligned FFC so that only some of the bits of each color is getting through, try reseating all FFCs and looking for any cable dammage. Some times the cable is not straight even though it looks fine, I find that its ussually better to remove and reinsert rather than just psuhing on them as sometimes they are caught on something and pushing doesn't help.
