Hey Im new to LL and this will be my first PJ. Cheep stuff b/c its my first one. Lets start out with the screen I made. 60" made with blackout cloth from the Rag shop.

2 Yards of Blackout cloth (Ragshop)
4 T Plates (Home Depot)

I just made the frame today. Going back to Home Depot tomorrow in the AM to get a 250w Lamp kit and Wood for the screen and PJ box

I also got XL10 for the Heat shield.
My Mom is also helping me out and she found me a 4inch mixing bowl for a reflector.
I got my PSone LCD
Im just waiting on my Fresnel's from 3dlens.com (300mm x2)

I will post pics Tuesday. (brother took the camera)

Guess I'll be the first to welcome you tw0f0ur!

Starting off with the screen instead of PJ? Neat idea! Gotta love the HomeDepot plates. I wish my Mom would help me out with my PJ :)

Best of luck and keep and don't forget to post your progress pics!

Hey thanks alot man. Ive read alot before I've started to post or build. I used this link http://www.eldamar.n...creenHowTo.html to help me make my screen. From what I hear a 60inch Screen seems pritty good for a PSone PJ. Well for now im off to Home Depot to go get Wood for the box and the boarder for the Screen. If i can get my friend to come over I might have pics tonight. Thanks

hey got back from Homedepot and I found which should hopfully be a TEMP lighting kit untill i get my lamp kit from LL. Im using a worklight rated at 250W uses a blub with the 2 clamps on the sides. the lamp gets VERY bright so we'll see it it works. It not then its only waisting 5$ I got my screen done. Just adding a black fabric boarder. I tell you it looks professionaly done. Took my time on building everything. I hope i can post pics tuesday. For now have fun.

Hi there and welcome. I could use a smaller projector for the master bedroom (around 50" would be the max) and am considering the PSOne as an option. I will be interested to see how your PSOne project turns out.

I had already build 2.5", 7" , 15.4" and now I have 17" Projetor, base on the Result and my personal Opinion building projector smaller than 15" is a waste of time and money.

P.S. I try to save some money and effort.

What kind of light is that? I recently got a hold of three projector lenses that could easily handle a PSone screen...I have been toying with the idea of making one...

but thats the first time I have seen that light...what section did it come from? what are its specs? Is it a halogen?

Oh and welcome aboard! ;)

Thanks. Actually its a Home Depot Work light. Its 250w and yes its a Halogen. Its basically a test light to see if it would work. It was only 5$ on sale so I decided to try it. 5$ wouldnt hurt. Its REALLY bright so hopfully it will work.

If you look at that bulb you will notice the filament is very long. Very long indeed. Your lens will only be able to focus on a small area of the filament, so I'm afraid you are likely to encounter brightness issues.

Well, he did say it was a test bulb, so it seems like he knows what he is getting into. Besides that, you can never tell when someone is going to make a breakthrough. I seem to recall a scratched LCD that seems to be making quite a splash... :o

Looks like a halogin bulb, when i tested them, they left a bright strip right across the middle of the screen, because of the nature of the filliment, but that was using a 15" lcd, so maybe a PSOne will work better.
