Opening the Case

Make sure your eVo has cooled down before following these steps.

You’ll need the following tools:

  • Phillips head screwdriver

WARRANTY NOTE — Opening the projector may void warranty, unless you have been given specific permission to open the eVo by a staff member. If no specific permission has been given and you choose to open the eVo, it will be up to the discretion of the support staff as to whether any warranty claim may be affected by your actions.

The following instructions will demonstrate how to open the case.

  1. Turn off power and un-plug from mains.
  2. Above the power entry module, gently peel off the LUMENLAB label (this is a warranty label on the v1.1).
  3. This will leave 2 screws uncovered - undo them.
  4. (eVo v1.1 only) Undo the top-front screw on the input panel
  5. At the front of the unit, push inwards on the top part of both sides of the case to release the clips. It should pop up. If for some reason it won’t un-clip, gently place a flat-head screwdriver in the very center on the top of the unit, where the top case meets the front, and pry it up slightly.
  6. The top of the case should now slide towards the back of the unit.
  7. eVo with the case a little bit open

  8. There are small cables attached, do not pull the top away too fast! Unplug the keypad at the top (note where it was attached), lay the top of the case next to the base so the inputs can remain attached.
  9. (Perform suggested maintainence here)
  10. Replace the top case, remembering to plug the keypad socket back in. Secure the 2 screws and place the sticker back over them.
